Curriculum & Instruction
The Curriculum and Instruction Department in the Weldon City Schools provides the district leadership for curriculum and instruction, PreK-12. It is the goal of the curriculum department to ensure the written curriculum is the taught curriculum and the taught curriculum is what will be assessed to determine the effectiveness of instructional practices. The mission of the Weldon City Schools district, in part, is to “create and maintain a highly effective educational system in which every student receives the highest quality education.” To support the mission, the Curriculum and Instruction Department provide the necessary support to stakeholders for students to achieve academically, become College and Career Ready, and be globally competitive. Not only support to stakeholders, but the department develops and support curriculum guides to teachers, assist with identifying and implementing not only best teaching practices, but also best leadership practices needed to promote a true professional learning community. All content areas are part of the Curriculum and Instruction and the content areas are Mathematics, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, Music, Physical Education, English as a Second Language, and Foreign Language, and the Arts.
