The Exceptional Children's Department is committed to providing services to children with special needs and their families by guaranteeing a free, appropriate public education in a least restrictive environment. It is the goal of the department to build student achievement through addressing the academic, social, and emotional needs of all children through the use of 21st century learning practices.


The Weldon City Schools Exceptional Children Department serves over 129 students with special needs, ages 3- 21. The school system provides a continuum of service to meet individual student needs.
